ISI is designed for measuring electrical resistance to direct current. The principle of operation of the meter is based on the measurement of the voltage drop across the resistance caused by the flow of direct measuring current.
Structurally ISI is a portable device in a case made of shockproof plastic. Indication controls are located on the top panel of the meter, on the side panels there are connectors for power supply, communication lines for transferring information to the automated dispatch control system, connectors for connecting the measured circuits.
Functionally, the ICI consists of the following units: switching unit, analogue-to-digital converter (ADC), microcontroller, measuring voltage source 500V, secondary power supply, indication unit, keyboard unit, supervisory control unit, RS-485 interface. The design of the ISI excludes the possibility of unauthorised influence on the SI software and measurement information.
