Description

The RIO587 I/O module is designed for use in conjunction with the CPC503 board (CompactPCI format, 6U form factor). The RIO587 provides access to the CPC503 module interfaces on the CPCI connectors J3 - J5 when installed on the back side of the backplane. The module is designed in CPCI 6U RIO in two versions: RIO587-01 (height 4HP) and RIO587-02 (height 8HP) Depending on the version differs set of interfaces brought to the backplane.

COM interfaces

COM1 is a 9-wire RS232 interface, brought out on a standard rear panel DSUB-9 connector. COM2/COM3/COM4 - 9-wire RS232 interfaces, brought out on 2.54 mm pitch BH-10 type connectors. Can be brought to the rear panel in the RIO587-02 via a split cable.

LPT

Support SPP (PC-compatible printer port), ECP (Extended Capabilities Port), EPP (Enhanced Parallel Port) modes. Outputted on BH-26 connector with 2.54mm pitch.

DVI-D

Resolution up to 1920x1200@60Hz. Displayed on the rear panel.

PCI-E

The PCI-E bus can be brought out to the mezzanine connector, allowing up to two PCI-E devices in x1 mode (2.5 Gbps) to be implemented on the mezzanine in the RIO587-02 version.

GPIO interface

8 lines. Output to a connector on the board.

Operating temperature
