GLIMS FobosGrunt is a hydrophobic impregnation agent for treating facades, foundations, plinths and other mineral surfaces against water absorption, supplied in 10 kg containers. Applied as a thin layer of around 0.04 mm at a consumption of roughly 0.1 kg per square meter, the agent penetrates the substrate and reaches full protective strength within about three days, after which treated concrete, brick and stone shed water instead of soaking it up.
Waterproofing the capillary structure dramatically slows freeze-thaw damage, efflorescence and rebar corrosion — the main mechanisms that age facades and foundations — while leaving the surface vapor-permeable and visually unchanged. At a low price per container with a 500-unit minimum order, the product targets building-chemistry distributors, waterproofing contractors and construction wholesalers.
Hydrophobization is one of the cheapest interventions per year of added facade life, an easy value story for buyers serving renovation and infrastructure maintenance markets.
