Lambrequins are horizontal short draperies, with folds almost adjacent to the plane of the window, covering the upper part of windows of rectangular, oval or round shape. As a rule, such draperies are sewn from lightweight materials and gathered in semi-circular folds.
Lambrequins decorate the upper part of windows and doors. Sometimes lambrequins are hung without additional draperies, but more often they help to hide the system of fixing various curtains and floor draperies.
For the production of textile products - lambrequins (swags, kokilie, podborov, festoons, decorative draperies) are used natural, artificial and synthetic fabrics with a density of 30 g/m2 to 800 g/m2., including fabrics consisting of fibres that are difficult to ignite.
