Thyristor voltage converters for group soft start of induction motors with voltage of 6 kV and capacity of 2000 MW provide alternate soft start of motors of different capacities with the help of one converter with subsequent connection of the started motor to the network. They consist of a number of cabinets: control cabinet, thyristor voltage converter cell YAPN and special motor selection cells YAVD. Motor selection is carried out by means of NDCs, the number of which is determined by the number of motors to be started. Each NDC can switch one or two motors. It consists of a disconnector and an earthing switch, which allows maintenance when the motor is running.
Valve cascades, microprocessor control system, automatic voltage (current) boosting in case of failed start of the electric drive mechanism, intelligent electronic protection of the converter and motor;
For synchronous motor the interface unit (PSD-V-G) is required.
