Oils and other products obtained by distilling heavy (high-temperature) coal tar in more or less wide fractional limits, which yield mixtures consisting mainly of aromatic hydrocarbons and other aromatic compounds.
These oils and other products of this commodity item include:
- Crude benzene - a liquid with a sweet odour of aromatic substances, is a mixture of benzene hydrocarbons, unsaturated and sulphur compounds of the following composition in %: benzene 55-85, toluene 7-18, xylenes 2-5.
- Single coke oil - dark crystallising liquid with peculiar odour, is a mixture of anthracene oil and (or) anthracene fraction, absorption oil, light-medium oil or solvent naphtha, pitch distillates. The quantity of components and their mass fractions are varied.
