The Grass Header 500D is a forage harvester adapter manufactured by Klever (АО «Клевер»), a Russian agricultural machinery producer that operates within the Rostselmash industrial group. Purpose-built for attachment to John Deere 7380 forage harvesters, the header cuts thin-stemmed green forage crops and grain silage standing up to 1.5 metres tall.
With a constructed working width of 4,950 mm, it delivers efficient field coverage during intensive feed-harvesting campaigns. The single-knife segmented cutting apparatus with steel double open-type fingers is driven by a planetary gear reducer, achieving 573 cutting strokes per minute at an 85 mm knife stroke.
A four-blade rake reel ensures reliable crop intake, while the proprietary balancing mechanism allows the header body to float in both longitudinal and transverse directions, maintaining a consistent stubble height of 50±15 mm even across uneven ground. The terrain-copying range of +200/−60 mm adapts to field contour without operator intervention, protecting cut quality and minimising field losses.
Knife position can be adjusted upward or downward to match varying crop conditions, and conveniently arranged lubrication points keep daily servicing fast. The machine holds EAC conformity certificate №ЕАЭС KG417-046.RU.02.07012, confirming compliance with Eurasian technical regulations, and qualifies under Russian Government subsidy programmes that can reduce the purchase price by up to 20 percent.
