Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GBS-100) is a vitreous, granular by-product of iron smelting produced at PJSC Severstal — one of Russia's largest vertically integrated steel and mining companies with an extensive track record of supplying industrial raw materials across domestic and export markets. Manufactured by rapidly quenching molten blast furnace slag with water, the material features a fine particle fraction of 0–2.5 mm and a bulk density of 800–1,000 kg/m³.
Its chemical profile is dominated by calcium oxide (CaO 35.17–39.57%) and silicon dioxide (SiO2 35.2–38.4%), with meaningful contributions of alumina (Al2O3 10.36–12.35%) and magnesia (MgO 10.51–13.83%) — a composition that underpins the latent hydraulic activity highly valued in cementitious applications. Moisture content is controlled at no more than 20% in summer and 15% in winter.
The product conforms to GOST 3476-2019 and technical specifications TU 14-105-620-09, TU 14-105-863-09, and TU 14-105-864-09, and carries radioactivity Class 1 clearance, permitting unrestricted use in all construction categories. Shipping is available by road, rail, and waterway, ensuring supply flexibility for cement plants, concrete producers, road contractors, and mineral wool manufacturers.
