The Floor Mosaic (art. 797) by NORDPLAST, a Russian manufacturer of plastic toys, is an oversized construction mosaic for children from 1 year old.
The set contains 14 rounded plastic pieces in 4 colours, each fitted with small locks on four sides that let children clip the elements together into flat pictures right on the floor. The pieces are large — 5.5 cm each — making them easy for small hands to grip and safe for toddlers.
The construction is remarkably robust: it does not break when squeezed or twisted, withstands the weight of a child standing on it, and assembled pictures can be moved around or even lifted vertically without falling apart. The whole set is packed in an original roomy "Bug" bucket measuring 16.5 cm in diameter and 15 cm in height, which doubles as storage and makes the toy easy to carry and to merchandise at retail.
