Due to its lower density, the glass mass forms the top layer and an almost perfectly flat surface is obtained at the junction of glass and metal. The glass is then allowed to cool to the required hardness and cut into sheets of various sizes. The glass is then sold in this form.
The vertical glass drawing method produces lower quality sheet glass than the float method.
