The ENERGO® ТЗПШ-4 is a thermostable arc-flash balaclava manufactured by Energokontrakt Group — Russia's leading producer of industrial protective clothing, headquartered in Moscow and operating since the early 1990s. Built from Термол®, a proprietary thermostable antistatic fabric woven from a blend of chemical fibers, the balaclava is rated to withstand electric arc flash thermal exposure up to 100 cal/cm².
It is expressly designed for deployment across all Russian climate zones, including the demanding Zone I–II, Zone III, Zone IV, and the "Special" (Arctic) zone, making it suitable for year-round power sector operations in the harshest subarctic and Arctic conditions. The garment maximally covers the forehead and lower face.
A chin strap fastened with two half-rings keeps it securely in position, while an adjustable central lacing allows the volume to be matched to the wearer's head shape across three standardized sizes. A detachable face flap with an insulating inner lining provides supplementary protection for the lower face in extreme cold, attaching via concealed snap buttons or hook-and-loop tape so it can be removed when conditions allow.
Loop tabs on both sides lock the balaclava to a safety helmet via hook-and-loop fasteners, preventing displacement under the hard hat during work. Energokontrakt holds the full complement of Russian certifications for arc flash and thermal protective equipment and manufactures all materials, including Термол® fabric, in Russia.
