The boat is designed for extinguishing fires on watercrafts and shore objects, as well as for rescue operations.
Area of navigation
The vessel is designed for mixed (river-sea) navigation on waves with wave height of 3% probability 3.5 m (5 points) with maximum distance from places of refuge up to 50 miles, for year-round operation in freezing non-Arctic seas in dark and daylight hours.
The vessel can navigate independently in shallow broken thin ice up to 0.55 m thick at a speed of 5 knots and navigate in the channel behind the icebreaker in solid ice up to 0.50 m thick at a speed of 3 knots.
Equipment
To fight fires at external facilities, the ship has a special water extinguishing system including two fire pumps EN125-500 of "Kvaerner" company (Norway) driven by GD gearbox with capacity of 180 kW each, two combined fire extinguishing units UKTP "Purga 40.60.100" with capacity of 360 m3/hour each, two tanks with foaming agent and two systems of foaming agent dosing. The pump control is local and remote from the wheelhouse
In addition to gun barrels there is a possibility to fight fire at a considerable distance from the vessel (up to 250-300 m) with the help of portable gun barrels, combined hand barrels, etc.
The vessel is equipped with a water curtain system or sprinkler system, which provides protection of the outer surfaces of the hull and superstructures, as well as personnel when working near the burning object.
