KTtron-8 is an ultra-fast-setting dry cement mixture engineered by NPO KT (KT TRON Plant, Yekaterinburg) specifically for the emergency repair of actively leaking concrete structures. When blended with water it forms a non-shrink, thixotropic mortar that achieves initial set within just one minute and reaches a bond strength of 0.5 MPa within the first hour — making it one of the fastest-acting hydraulic plugging compounds available.
The cured material develops a compressive strength of at least 40 MPa, achieves a waterproof rating of W4 at 24 hours, and carries a frost resistance grade of F300, performing reliably across application temperatures from +5 °C to +35 °C and a wide pH range of 5 to 14. Uniquely, KTtron-8 is approved for contact with drinking water and contains no chlorides or solvents, eliminating any risk of reinforcement corrosion.
The material also resists highly aggressive chemical environments — including ammonium, magnesium, and sulfate solutions, alkaline media up to 8% NaOH, sea water, and petroleum products — making it well suited for civil, industrial, and hydraulic infrastructure repair. Packaged in handy 5 kg buckets with a 12-month shelf life, it requires no injection equipment: the mortar is simply mixed by hand to a clay-like consistency in seconds and pressed firmly into the prepared void.
