Description

The DZ-98T.005 is a heavy-duty class-250 motor grader manufactured by ООО ПО "УРАЛ" (PO URAL), a Chelyabinsk-region industrial plant listed in Russia's Ministry of Industry and Trade registry under number 4 since 1998. This specific configuration is defined by its rear-mounted ripper attachment, which extends the machine's capability beyond pure grading into breaking up hard-packed, frost-hardened, or badly deteriorated road surfaces — eliminating a separate scarifying pass and improving cycle efficiency on demanding projects.

Built on the all-wheel-drive DZ-98T platform, the .005 variant features a three-axle 6×6 drivetrain with an operating mass of 19,500 kg, powered by a YaMZ-238ND3 diesel engine. The main grader blade is at least 4,200 mm long and 700 mm high, offers full 360° rotation and a 30–70° adjustable cutting angle under hydraulic load, and can be extended ±1,050 mm laterally or lowered 500 mm below grade.

A six-speed mechanical gearbox (six forward, six reverse) delivers working speeds from 3.5 km/h up to 41 km/h for road transport. The spacious operator cab includes a WEBASTO pre-heater certified for cold starts to −45°C, an adjustable steering column, and an anatomic operator seat.

All DZ-98T modifications including the .005 are produced under TU 4814-002-82914729-2009, hold Eurasian Economic Union (EAC) type approval, and carry a factory warranty of 12 months.

A factory-fitted WEBASTO pre-heater ensures reliable engine starting and operator comfort in temperatures down to −45°C. The machine is rated for standard operation from −45°C to +45°C, with a tropical variant available for hotter climates.

Wheel brakes on all axles are multi-disc units with sintered metal-ceramic linings running in sealed oil baths, maintaining consistent stopping performance in mud, dust, and extreme cold. Braking distance from 30 km/h on dry asphalt is ≤ 14 m.

Engineered for at least 8,400 machine-hours before the first capital overhaul, with a mean time between failures of ≥ 200 machine-hours and a technical availability coefficient of ≥ 0.85. All spare parts are produced in-house at the PO URAL plant.
