The cable contains a core of modular construction with a central power element made of dielectric rod, around which optical modules with freely laid fibres are twisted. The free space in the optical modules and in the cable core is filled with hydrophobic gel. An intermediate sheath made of polyethylene is overlaid on the core. Armour made of corrugated steel tape is applied longitudinally to the intermediate sheath. The free space between the intermediate sheath and the armour is filled with hydrophobic gel. The armour is overlaid with a sheath made of a polymer composition that does not spread combustion, does not contain halogens and has low smoke emission.
