Functions of the antenna.
The antenna can receive and transmit Internet data or receive a TV signal,
depending on which satellite it's aimed at.
The required satellite is selected by the operator from a list,
available in the control computer.
Modes of operation:
- automatic on the move
- automatic parking
- manual in case of GPS / GLONASS failure
- TV satellite search
Auxiliary modes:
- diagnosis
This mode checks the antenna mechanisms for backlash and damage, and checks the sensors for proper operation. This mode is automatically activated each time the antenna is switched on, in all modes. Faults are displayed on the mnemonic diagram of the control computer.
Description of the "automatic on the move" mode
The antenna receives its coordinates from the GPS/GLONASS system, calculates the ship's heading and then the azimuth, position angle and polarisation angle of the satellite. It points to the satellite and accompanies it with the help of a gyrostabiliser.
