Disc filters are used for: filtration of source water from water bodies, pre-filtration before sand filters, water recycling, filtration of process water, additional treatment of domestic and storm water, filtration of industrial wastewater, filtration of cooling water, filtration in the pulp and paper industry. The treated liquid enters the central rotor drum and flows by gravity through the openings into the filter discs of the filter.
Due to the difference in the water level in the drum and in the filtrate zone, the water flows through the filter cloth by gravity. Contaminants larger than the size of the fabric gaps remain trapped inside the disc.
