The MSDH1-3500-003 (SP9K) is a rod-type diesel pile driving hammer produced by Pile Driving Equipment Plant LLC (ООО «Завод Сваебойного Оборудования») in Sterlitamak, Russia. Part of the SP9 family launched into serial production in 2017, the hammer carries a 3,500 kg striking mass and meets a rated impact energy of at least 61.8 kJ per GOST 31550-2012.
The SP9K modification (-003) uses SP8-series guide rods (SP8-01.00.003, 4,230 mm long) in place of the standard SP9 rods (4,830 mm), giving the unit a more compact overall height suited to specific pile driving rig configurations where headroom is limited. Total hammer mass with the anvil cap is 5,600 kg; blow frequency reaches at least 42 impacts per minute; and diesel consumption is 10.5 L/h from a 14-litre onboard tank.
The SP9 diesel engine was completely redesigned relative to the preceding SP6B and SP7 generations, featuring reinforced guide rods with a 25% higher axial moment of inertia, a forced lubrication circuit for the piston head and piston rings, adjustable high-pressure fuel injection, and a lighter striker-release mechanism. Unlike imported Chinese rod hammers, all maintenance and part replacement can be carried out directly on the construction site without workshop facilities.
Components are interchangeable with the SP6B, SP7, and SP8 families, and the manufacturer offers capital repair services. The hammer drives reinforced concrete and steel piles and sheet piling in all soil types and climatic conditions year-round.
