Data Exchange Gateway (DEG) is a means of information protection (IPS) during its transfer in the form of file resources between departmental network segments (local area networks) of automated information systems.
The data exchange gateway allows file resources (FRs) to be transferred from an external LAN to the protected LAN segment with restricted reverse transfer.
When transmitting FRs from the protected LAN segment, the compliance of the transmitted data with the specified format and the presence of the technological signature of the responsible person for the transmitted document are controlled.
For secure delivery of FRs from the protected LAN to the external LAN, the data exchange gateway allows only text files (txt, xml) to be transmitted using a strictly defined format:
- in a txt file: the absence of non-terminal (non-printable) characters in the file is checked;
- for xml-file: a check of FR conformity to XSD-scheme is performed. The permissible XSD-scheme is set by the security administrator.
In this case the FR is provided with a technological signature...
