Potassium sulphate is a valuable chlorine-free fertiliser.
Potassium increases the content of sugars and vitamins in growing produce, and fertilising in late August-September promotes better wintering of fruit and ornamental trees and shrubs. It is used on various soils, for all crops, as well as for indoor and balcony floriculture. Potassium sulphate is suitable for all methods of application: the main (when digging up the soil in spring or autumn) and for top dressing during the growing season.
It is used primarily for crops sensitive to chlorine (potatoes, tobacco, flax, grapes, citrus fruits, etc.). The presence of sulphate ion in the fertiliser has a positive effect on the yield of cruciferous plants (cabbage, rutabaga, turnips, etc.) and legumes, which consume a lot of sulphur.
Also potassium sulphate is used in the production of glass, various alum and other potassium compounds, as a flux in metallurgy.
