The remote cable puncture device UDPK-90 is designed to indicate the absence of voltage on the repaired electrical cable up to 220 kV before its cutting, by puncturing the cable diameter and shorting the core to ground, in order to prevent the possibility of electric shock to personnel.
The device allows making 500 punctures of cables in any spatial position, laid in any conditions (in collectors, trenches, cable channels, basements, etc.) with minimum access when the gap between cables is not less than 30 mm and the distance between the axes is not less than 300 mm.
The device consists of a power section, a remote control unit and an extractor.
The action of the UDPC device is based on the use of gunpowder gas energy. The recommended energy sources are mounting cartridges type MPU-3 (yellow) according to TU 3-1064-78 with powder charge energy not less than 2720 Joules.
