Polypropylene rope is superior to kapron in resistance to bending, but inferior to it in resistance to abrasion. Polypropylene rope has a positive buoyancy of 0, 91 (does not sink) and increased resistance to acids, alkalis and solvents, non-hygroscopic.
The disadvantage is fluidity under load and low resistance to solar radiation. Elongation under load is 8-12 %.
Melting point is 165 C.
