The BioSmart Quasar 7 is a wall-mounted biometric access control and time-attendance terminal produced by Prosoft-Biometrics, a Russian developer of industrial-grade biometric identification systems. At its core is a triple-camera optical complex: a 5 MP color RGB sensor with mechanical autofocus, a 1 MP infrared sensor, and a structured-light depth camera that projects roughly 10,000 infrared points onto a subject's face to reconstruct a precise 3D map.
This combination enables a false acceptance rate (FAR) as low as 10⁻⁸ and reliable recognition of personnel wearing masks, helmets, or other personal protective equipment. A 6-core processor completes a face-search across a database of 3,000 templates in under one second, while the terminal stores up to 1,000,000 biometric templates and 1,000,000 RFID credentials locally.
A 7-inch Full HD touchscreen with a polyphonic speaker delivers clear access feedback. Beyond facial biometrics, the Quasar 7 reads EM-Marine and Mifare cards (including SL1/SL3 encrypted modes) and supports contactless smartphone identification via NFC.
Connectivity spans Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Wiegand, RS-485, USB 2.0, and Bluetooth 4.1. Rated IP54, operating from −10 °C to +50 °C, and powerable via DC 12 V or PoE 802.3at Class 4, the terminal is designed for both office and unheated industrial environments.
It complies with Russian Federal Law No. 572-FZ and can integrate with the Unified Biometric System (UBS) and Commercial Biometric System (CBS).
