The 71-631-00.01 is a three-section, six-axle articulated passenger tram car from the 71-631 family built by UKVZ (Ust-Katav Wagon-Building Plant), one of Russia's longest-established tram manufacturers with more than 90 units of this series already delivered. The car belongs to UKVZ's lineup of low-floor trams with a variable floor level: over 70% of the floor area is low, and boarding zones at the doors are fully step-free, which speeds up passenger exchange and makes the vehicle accessible for wheelchair users and parents with prams.
The 36-tonne car runs on 1524 mm or 1000 mm gauge, measures 28,000 mm in length, 2,500 mm in width and 3,700 mm in height, and is designed for a service speed of up to 75 km/h. Traction is provided by four asynchronous motors of 105 kW each, fed from a 600 V network, with controlled regenerative braking and an autonomous-run capability of at least 1,000 m without overhead power.
Nominal capacity reaches 207 passengers (303 at full load) with 47 seats. Bogies with two-stage spring suspension keep noise and vibration within regulatory limits, while an on-board diagnostics system records drive and control parameters without any external test equipment.
The design service life is 30 years.
