Polypropylene braided 8-strand rope is used mainly for marine and river fleet equipment - as mooring ropes. Also braided polypropylene rope is well suited for fixing cages along the shoreline and between each other in open water bodies.
The rope has positive buoyancy and zero hygroscopicity, i.e. it does not sink and does not absorb moisture, it is lightweight, resistant to alkalis, acids and solvents.
Of all synthetic and polymer ropes, it is the least resistant to ultraviolet light, so it should be made of light-stabilised polypropylene.
