The OMSD-02 is a multi-channel information-measurement system purpose-built to measure the root-mean-square (RMS) value of vibration acceleration during the diagnostics of mechanical assemblies across all classes of railway rolling stock — freight wagons, passenger coaches, locomotives, and electric multiple units. Developed and manufactured by DIATECH LLC of Nizhny Novgorod, the system has been in continuous operation throughout the Russian railway network since 2005, and is officially registered in the JSC Russian Railways measuring instruments registry under № MT 017.2013.
It carries Gosstandart of the Russian Federation certification (certificate RU.C.28.011.A № 31257, registration № 37486-08). Each of the 16 measurement channels incorporates a piezoelectric vibration transducer (AR 57), a charge amplifier (OSA-8), and an analog-to-digital converter (L-791) connected to a PC.
The system covers a working frequency range of 5 to 8,000 Hz and an RMS vibration acceleration range of 0.2 to 350 m/s². A built-in network interface enables remote fault detection, software updates, and statistical consolidation of diagnostic results from all connected units through a centralized Diagnostic Center.
Systems based on the OMSD platform are today deployed across 42 locomotive, 77 freight-wagon, 35 passenger-car, and 19 multiple-unit depots on the Russian railway network, as well as at repair facilities in Kazakhstan.
