The Fractal-S is a concealed magnetometric metal detector developed and manufactured in Russia by SKIZEL (АО НПП СКИЗЭЛ), a scientific-production enterprise serving critical security infrastructure across government, industrial, and public sectors. Designed for hidden installation within doorframes, architectural arches, gateway cabins, and structural elements, the device integrates seamlessly into building fabric without visible hardware — making it ideal for high-security sites where overt security measures must remain discreet.
Unlike active scanning systems, the Fractal-S operates on a passive principle: it detects ferromagnetic objects by registering distortions they cause in Earth's natural magnetic field as a person passes through the control zone. Because the system emits no electromagnetic radiation, it is entirely safe for pregnant women, children, individuals with cardiac pacemakers or hearing aids, and patients with medical implants, and it creates no interference with health-monitoring equipment.
The detector reliably identifies firearms, bladed and cold weapons, shell explosive devices, mobile phones, hand tools, and even small items such as half a razor blade. Twenty configurable sensitivity levels allow operators to tune detection thresholds precisely, while its algorithm minimises nuisance activations from keys, coins, foil, watches, and jewellery.
With a throughput of up to 60 people per minute and SCUD integration via power relay and dry-contact relay, the Fractal-S suits high-volume public venues — schools, museums, stadiums, shopping centres — and restricted-access facilities operated by Russia's defence industry, Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN), and Ministry of Internal Affairs (MВД). Listed in Russia's unified register of domestic radio-electronic products (Minpromtorg) and certified under TR TS 020/2011.
