The DA-N is a portable automatic external defibrillator (AED) produced by Concern Axion, a Russian medical equipment manufacturer, in accordance with TU 9444-228-49640047-2015. The device is designed for resuscitation of patients with cardiac rhythm disturbances and is intended for ambulance services, field hospitals, rescue operations, rural feldsher-midwife stations and hospitals, as well as for placement in crowded public spaces to enable public-access defibrillation.
The defibrillator automatically analyses the patient's ECG, determines whether a shockable rhythm is present and guides the rescuer with voice prompts through timely shock delivery and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Energy is charged in about 9 seconds, and the compact unit measures 295 x 230 x 87 mm and weighs around 3 kg, making it easy to carry and deploy at the scene of an emergency.
The device performs an automatic daily self-test and a self-diagnostic check at every power-on, records up to 1,000 recent events including ECG traces to an external microSD card for later analysis on a PC, and features a moisture-protected interface. The DA-N family is offered in three modifications matched to the rescuer's level of medical training: DA-N-02 for resuscitation and cardiology specialists, DA-N-01 for paramedics and emergency-services personnel, and DA-N-05 for public-access defibrillation by lay responders.
