The support module is one of the components of an electric submersible screw pump installation for oil production.
Physically, it is a sealed metal assembly with a diameter of 103 mm and a length of about 3 metres.
The main material of the support module components is carbon steel.
During operation, the support module serves to compensate the axial load created by the column of borehole fluid when the screw pump is operating, to protect the oil-filled submersible motor cavity from contamination,
transmission of rotational torque from the shaft of the drive-electric motor to the rotor of the screw pump through splined shaft-coupling joints.
