The rods are designed to transfer translational or rotational motion from the ground drive to the downhole pump during oil production. The rods are a metal rod of round cross-section, at the ends of which are planted heads, ending with a thread.
To prevent wear of rods, couplings and tubing, the rods can be equipped with various types of centralisers, and to remove paraffin deposits they can be additionally equipped with movable scrapers. Pump rods of "D SUP" class have increased strength and anticorrosion properties and their quality is superior to the products of well-known foreign companies.
