Single-phase Synchronous Exciter VSN-26 for Independent Excitation of Generators

The exciter is designed to supply through rectifier bridge the windings of independent excitation of synchronous generators of diesel locomotives TE116U, 2(3)TE25KM. Exciter is interchangeable with exciters of VS 650 V U2 type produced by SE plant "Elektrotyazhmash" (Kharkov) and VST 26-3300-1000 produced by LLC "ETMPrivod" (Lysva). The exciter is a single-phase reversed eight-pole synchronous electric machine with distinct poles, with self-ventilation and with one free conical shaft end.

The exciter has two designs, differing in the location of the terminal box, on the driven side. The armature winding is single phase wave winding. There are two windings on the pole: damping and independent excitation.

The poles are of monoblock construction. The electric motor meets the requirements of the technical regulations of the Customs Union TR TS 001/2011.
