Traction Motor NB-514E for Electric Locomotives - Reliable Performance

The traction motor NB-514E is designed to drive wheel pairs of mainline electric locomotive 2 (3, 4)ES5K. The motor is made with axle-axle suspension, on motor-axle rolling bearings and is used as a part of the mechanical drive of the first class with double-sided torque transmission. The traction motor is a reversible six-pole compensated pulsating current machine with series excitation and independent ventilation system. The motor is equipped with a swivelling traverse for ease of maintenance in operation of the collector-brush unit. Insulated coils of main and additional poles together with cores are impregnated in epoxy compound and after baking represent a single monolithic block. The electric motor complies with the requirements of the technical regulations of the Customs Union TR TS 001/2011.
