The sand feeding device is designed to feed sand into the channel of the sand feeding system of the rolling stock, namely tram car. The principle of operation of the device is based on the use of a compressor blowing air into the mixing chamber with sand. When a command is given to switch on the sand feeder via CAN-bus, the air is blown into the mixing chamber and the sand falls into the sand discharge channel onto the tram tracks. When the commands to switch on the sand feeder via the CAN bus are no longer received, the sand supply is stopped. The sand is heated by applying voltage to the heating element located in the sand hopper and to the heating element located in the nozzle of the sand supply hose.
