ECNIS provides navigation safety of navigation by providing the possibility of downloading electronic navigation charts and their corrections, performing preliminary and executive route guidance, solving additional tasks with the help of electronic navigation tools. Interfacing with direction finder, lag, echo sounder, satellite navigation systems, NRLS and AIS equipment provides continuous knowledge of one's place in the sea with the required probability of not going out of the lane, displaying primary and secondary radar information, information on the target situation on the background of the electronic navigation chart, solving collision prevention tasks. It is included in the industry import substitution plans.
