Description
Electrolyte for acid batteries is an aqueous solution of sulphuric acid intended for use in lead-acid batteries (AKB). Appearance, colour - transparent colourless liquid. The electrolyte is prepared by dissolving concentrated sulphuric acid in distilled water, acid molecules in this solution dissociate (disintegrate) into ions - this phenomenon endows the electrolyte with electrically conductive properties.
The main characteristic of the electrolyte is its density. For normal operation of the battery, the density of the electrolyte should lie within the range of 1.23-1.4 g / cc, because it is at this density solution has the maximum electrical conductivity.
