Indicator tubes IT-IC/VP (hereinafter - IT) are designed for measuring mass concentration of harmful gases and vapours, mercury vapour and volume fraction of oxygen, carbon dioxide in air media. To pump the sample of the gas medium through the IT, aspirators of the approved type piston or bellows aspirators (AM-5, AM-0059, NP-3M, UG-2 and others with similar characteristics) are used.

The main applications of indicator tubes are:

- Environmental protection;

- protection of safe labour conditions;

- special assessment of labour conditions;

- control of technological processes.

The main advantages of using indicator tubes are:

- No sample preparation;

- prompt response in case of threats to environmental safety;

- no need for sources of electrical and thermal energy;

- portability and mobility.
