The majority of modern heavy wheeled vehicles and various automotive and tractor equipment is equipped with a brake system with pneumatic drive. The drive of mechanisms mounted on the wheels in such a system is carried out with the help of brake chambers (BC), the stroke of which cannot be changed or can be changed within very narrow limits.
This can lead to deterioration of brakes when brake shoe linings wear - at some point the stroke of the rod will not be enough to select the increased distance between the lining and the surface of the drum, and braking will simply not occur......
