Encoder (rotation angle sensor) is designed to determine the angle of rotation and direction of rotation of shafts of various mechanisms. It is installed coaxially on the shafts of actuators.
It is a sensor with a rotary shaft, for discrete determination of the angle value when the shaft is rotated around its axis, and transmission of an electrical signal (impulse) when each discrete position in the rotation is reached (angular positions of the shaft). The received signals are transmitted via the contacts of the electrical connector for further processing.
When the direction of shaft rotation is changed, the electrical signals change their polarity, which makes it possible to determine the direction of shaft rotation.
