Continuous/pulsed ytterbium fibre lasers of high power (1000-3000 W and higher) in the modern world are actively used in a huge number of different industries. Globally we can distinguish several directions of use: cutting, welding, drilling, soldering, surfacing, heat treatment, cleaning of such materials as steel, aluminium, copper and other metals. Also, in some cases, these lasers can act as a pump for other lasers.
This type of lasers is easy to operate and maintain, has a relatively small size, long-term stability and reliability. The principal optical scheme of such lasers has several pump modules, pump combiner, Bragg fibre gratings, active fibre doped with ytterbium ions, pump radiation output device from the sheath and radiation output cable.
