Yes, and you should insist on it. Russian domestic sizes differ from Gulf, European and US hotel formats, but factories cut to order, so supplying your exact dimensions for sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases costs nothing extra. Send a simple size table with the inquiry and ask for it to be repeated on the proforma invoice.
•How is fabric quality specified - thread count or something else?
Russian mills specify surface density in grams per square meter and the weave type (calico, percale, satin) rather than thread count. As a rough guide, hotel-grade percale runs around 110-125 g/m2. Ask for both the g/m2 figure and a fabric swatch; together they tell you more than a thread-count number alone.
•What minimums apply for a custom hotel linen program?
Sewing from in-stock white fabric typically starts around 100-300 sets, depending on the factory. Custom-dyed fabric or woven logos raise the minimum to roughly 500-1,000 sets. Embroidered or printed logos on stock fabric sit in between. Smaller trial orders are often possible at a modest price premium.
•Do suppliers handle export packing for sea freight?
Standard practice is individual polybags packed into cartons or compressed bales; baling reduces shipped volume noticeably for blankets and pillows. Confirm carton dimensions and weights in advance for your container plan, and specify any labeling your customs or retail chain requires - barcodes and care labels in your language are a routine request.
•What lead times are realistic for a first container?
From confirmed order and advance payment, sewing typically takes 25-45 days depending on volume and season. Add about a week for export formalities, then transit: 10-20 days overland to Central Asia, or 30-45 days by sea via Novorossiysk or St. Petersburg to the Gulf, East Africa or Latin America.
•Are the disposable sheets suitable for medical use in my country?
