Description
A rigid, portable surgical instrument with a sharp (pyramidal or tapered) end designed for use during orthopaedic surgery to perform manual puncture of the site of insertion of instruments into the body for: 1) gently separate surrounding soft tissue from the insertion site; 2) aid in locating and positioning skeletal fractures; and/or 3) facilitate alignment of surgical instruments/implants. Typically made of high quality stainless steel, titanium (Ti) or synthetic material. It is a reusable product.
