Description
The torsion stabiliser is designed to counteract the tilt of the car body of locomotive traction/motorcar rolling stockThe principle of stabiliser operation is as follows.The supports of the torsion shaft are rigidly connected to the bogie frame, and the rod ends are connected to the car body frame. When the wagon is tilted in the transverse direction (in relation to the direction of the wagon movement), the stabiliser rods move (one rod moves upwards, the other rod moves downwards). In this case, taking into account the rigid connection between the levers and the shaft, the levers, taking the load from the rods, twist the torsion shaft in accordance with the direction of movement of the rods (one lever twists the shaft clockwise, the other twists the shaft anti-clockwise). When the torsion shaft is twisted, an elastic counter force is generated in it, which tends to return the system to its original position and thus counteracts the inclination of the carriage.
