Temperature compensator rail PT62 (project 1049.01.000) is a movable rail joint of special design, allowing longitudinal movement of the end of one rail relative to another up to 100 mm, laid on bridges, overpasses, as well as on separate and non-separate sections of tramways. The purpose of the temperature compensator is to relieve longitudinal stresses in the rails (rail braids) of tramways, arising from longitudinal movement of the end sections of the track due to changes in the ambient temperature. It consists of 2 halves, each of which is mounted in a separate carriage (pad). The milled rail parts are connected with each other by a special butt pad. The compensator is operated outdoors in macroclimatic regions of temperate and cold climate as a product UHL1 according to GOST 15150-69.
