The wedge steel cast gate valves (hereinafter referred to as gate valves) with a sliding spindle belong to pipeline valves. Gate valves are designed for use as a shut-off device on pipelines for the transport of various liquid and gaseous media. Gate valves by type of control can be manually operated by handwheel, manually operated by gearbox, operated by various types of actuators, such as: electric actuator, pneumatic actuator, hydraulic actuator and other types of actuators. Gate valves by type of connection to the pipeline or equipment are divided into flanged and welded. Gate valves must ensure tightness in the shut-off element of a certain class from A to E, depending on the object or working medium moved through the pipeline. Materials from which the parts of gate valves are made are non-toxic and do not have a harmful effect on the environment.
