The starting bellows compensator SSC of the hortum trade mark serves for compensation of axial displacements arising due to thermal expansion of pipelines of ductless underground heating networks. The starter compensator fulfils its function only once: when the pipeline is first heated up, the bellows compensates for the thermal expansion caused by the change in temperature of the heating medium and is compressed, after which its casing is fixed by a welded seam. The thickness of the outer casing is selected in such a way as to exclude the possibility of movement (elongation/compression) after its fixation.
