Type I (l) - light, weighing not less than 2.5 kg;
Type I (t) - heavy, weighing at least 4.0 kg;
KCs shall support in fresh water for 24 hours a load of iron weighing at least 14.5 kg.
- The CW shall be orange in colour.
- The CW shall have a lifeline with a diameter of not less than 9.5 mm and a length of not less than four outer diameters of the circle. The lifeline shall be secured around the perimeter of the circle at four equally spaced locations forming four identical loops.
- The lifelines shall have retroreflective strips (not less than 100 mm in size) around or on both sides of the circumference of the circle at four points equidistant from each other.
- CW shells shall be made of polyethylene and filled with floating material - polyurethane foam.
