Rail Temperature Compensator T62 Model 8640.00.000 for Enhanced Track Flexibility

Temperature compensator rail T62 (project 8640.00.000) is a movable rail joint of special design, allowing longitudinal displacement of the end of one rail relative to another up to 100 mm, laid on bridges, overpasses, as well as on separate and non-separate sections of tramways. The purpose of the temperature compensator is to relieve longitudinal stresses in the rails (rail braids) of tramways, arising from the longitudinal movement of the end sections of the track due to changes in the ambient temperature. It consists of 2 halves, each of which is mounted in a separate box fixed on a carriage.

Pads and joint pads are installed on the rail ends. The compensator is operated outdoors in macroclimatic regions of temperate and cold climate as a product UHL1 according to GOST 15150-69. The compensator is designed to pass the rolling stock with wheel bandages according to GOST 25712-88.
