Pressure Regulator for Diesel Locomotives 3RD - Automatic Compressor Control

The pressure regulator 3RD is used in diesel locomotives with diesel engine. It automatically switches the compressor on and off. When the air pressure in the main tank of the locomotive is below the value set by the driver, the 3PD regulator switches on and allows the compressor to pump the gas up to the upper permissible limit.

As soon as the desired value is reached, the 3RD switches off. In general, the pressure regulator allows the permissible minimum and maximum gas pressure values in the main tank of the locomotive to be strictly observed, performing all actions automatically. The simplicity of the design also has a positive effect on the performance of the mechanism: there is nothing to break down, so the pressure regulator always works in normal mode. A reliable horsehair filter protects the inner part of the mechanism from contamination, so the operator does not even have to clean the pressure regulator.
