Petri dish is a sterile container widely used in laboratory research, which is a flat round beaker with a flat bottom and projecting sides. It is used for culturing, growing and observing microorganisms and cells. This Petri dish is made of polystyrene.

It is intended for single use. The Petri dish is single-sectional, meaning it has one section for research. The "non-ventilated" Petri dish has a lid that fits snugly around the base.
