"Piston pins are a cylindrical part required in the cylinder-piston group assembly to transfer the force from the pressure of gases acting on the piston to the connecting rod. They are made of special alloy steel. The surface of the pins is cemented and hardened, which gives them high strength, hardness and perfect geometry after machining.

The fingers retain stability of mechanical and physical properties throughout their service life. The availability of modern European equipment made it possible to improve the accuracy of pin machining and change its fit in the piston: if earlier in the cold state in the mating pin-piston provided a tension of 0 to 0.01 mm, now the gap is 0.003 to 0.015 mm. With this fit, the piston does not need to be preheated to install the pin.
